Music icon Cher is not dcad, though a rumor spread like wildfire Thursday night on social media sites and had many fans scrambling for verification. The celebrity d8ath hoax game has spiraled out of control lately, and Cher's name is the latest of many to be brought into the mix. Scottsdale fans started seeing tweets about Cher's supposed dcath on Twittter, and “RIP Cher” even started trending. Luckily, Gossip Cop was quick to check on this one and rule it a false rumor.

The site said this dcath hoax seemed connected to a not-so-funny joke that was picked up and spread. The chatter was intense around 11:00 p.m. Scottsdale time when many Twitter users were looking for news on popular entertainment sites, while others were able to make light of the situation. As user @Zoey93339 posted, “RIP Cher: Twitter has a habit of killing people without them knowing.” Looking back on Twitter to when the topic gained traction, it seems that user @obseseschoolgirl is where the rumor originated. Naturally she seems to think the entire ordeal is quite hilarious, though she is receiving a great deal of criticism. She's embracing all of the mentions of her, joking about who has commented and even is trying to start “RIP rihanna” going now. Source

Designer Vera Wang Stuns at 62

Designer Vera Wang ,the fashion mogul is actually 62 years old, but you'd never believe it from the recent photo shoot she did with Harper's Bazaar where Wang shows off her sleek and swanky new Beverly Hills home as well as her slim figure in a strapless swimsuit.

"I am not the sort of woman who would wear high heels with a bathing suit. Let's get that straight right now," she says in the magazine's February issue.

While Wang insists she's still very much a New Yorker, she explains in the interview that she purchased her new 90210 abode (which once belonged to Burt Reynolds) last summer as a "zen escape."

"New York for me is about work. If L.A. were to become a West Coast version of that, I'd shoot myself," says Wang. "The climate, the lifestyle — it really fits as the yin to my New York yang."

'Underworld: Awakening': Kate Beckinsale skin-tight leather costume

The "Underworld" franchise hit theaters nearly a decade ago, in 2003, and though its star, Kate Beckinsale, is now 38, she's continued to play an ageless vampire, most recently in "Underworld: Awakening," which premiered Thursday.

As the vampire Selene, she’s still kicking butt in a skin-tight leather costume, which may not seem the easiest task in an action- and stunt-filled movie. "Actually, it’s a costume I really liked," Beckinsale revealed at the film's Grauman's Chinese Theatre premiere.

She also told the Insider recently, "I remember the first movie I did, I was very intimidated by the costume. I trust it now. Actually, it gives you a little bit of help, if anything."


"Underworld: Awakening" features some characters new to the franchise, played by "The Secret Life of the American Teenager" young star India Eisley and Michael Ealy, who with "Awakening" gets to show off his action chops for the first time since the Paul Walker-starring "Takers." Both actors shared positive experiences from working with Beckinsale.

"She's very funny, and she knows how to have fun on set between takes, and I think that's something that's important with something that's obviously dark," Eisley told Ministry of Gossip.

Ealy told reporters, "Working with Kate is as fun as it is to hang out with her. She's so ..." — the actor glanced sideways at his publicist before deciding how to word his answer, which fell just on the other side of publishable — "[very] cool."

“Underworld: Awakening,” the fourth film in the vampires-versus-lycans series, opens in theaters Friday and is expected to sink its teeth deep into this weekend’s box office sales

Rapper Snoop Dogg Caught With Drugs

EL PASO, Texas (AP) — Rapper Snoop Dogg is facing a minor drug charge in Texas after border agents say they found several joints on his tour bus. Hudspeth County sheriff's office said in a statement that Snoop Dogg, whose name is Calvin Broadus, was arrested Saturday at the Sierra Blanca highway checkpoint and cited for possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor typical in cases involving small amounts of marijuana.

According to the sheriff's office, a border agent smelled marijuana smoke coming from the bus and ordered everyone off so that a dog could inspect the vehicle. A prescription bottle with several marijuana cigarettes was found in a trashcan, and more marijuana was found in two other containers. In all, 0.13 pounds of the drug were found.

Broadus admitted the drug was his and was released, the sheriff's office said.

Broadus' agent didn't immediately respond to a request for comment Monday. In interviews, the rapper has said he has a license to use medical marijuana in his home state of California because he suffers from migraines and blurred vision.

County Judge Becky Dean Walker says paraphernalia citations are typically handled by justices of the peace in the county and that they are resolved by a no contest plea and a mailed-in fine of up to $500.

Country singer Willie Nelson was arrested in November 2010 for marijuana possession at that same checkpoint.

Aretha Franklin Engaged

Franklin, 69, and her friend William 'Willie' Wilkerson hope to marry later this year on a sandy Miami beach with a private party to celebrate afterward aboard a yacht, a spokeswoman for Franklin confirmed on Monday. "We're looking at June or July for our date, and no I'm not pregnant, LOL!," Franklin said in a statement. Franklin, 69, was sidelined by a mysterious ailment at about this time last year, but overcame her health scare in January and shed 85 pounds on the road to better health. The legendary singer of 1960s hits like "Chain of Fools" and "Baby I Love You" sang at her own 69th birthday party in March.
